حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ح و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ الْمَعْنَى عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَرَأَ خَلْفَهُ سَبِّحْ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ أَيُّكُمْ قَرَأَ قَالُوا رَجُلٌ قَالَ قَدْ عَرَفْتُ أَنَّ بَعْضَكُمْ خَالَجَنِيهَا قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد قَالَ الْوَلِيدُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ فَقُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ أَلَيْسَ قَوْلُ سَعِيدٍ أَنْصِتْ لِلْقُرْآنِ قَالَ ذَاكَ إِذَا جَهَرَ بِهِ قَالَ ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ كَأَنَّهُ كَرِهَهُ قَالَ لَوْ كَرِهَهُ نَهَى عَنْهُ

Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم led us in prayer, that was, we think, the dawn prayer, He further narrated this tradition up to the words “what is the matter with me that I have been contended with in (the recitation of ) the Quran. ” Abu Dawud said: Musaddad in his tradition said that Mamar said: The people ceased to recit (the Quran) at the prayer in which the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم recited aloud. Ibn al-Sarh said in his version that Mamar reported from al-Zuhrl on the authority of Ab Hurairah. Then the people ceased (to recite behind the imam). Another version says: Sufyan said: Al-Zuhrl spoke a word that I could not hear. Then Mamar said; He said: Then people ceased (to recite the Quran) Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by Abd al-Raman bin Ishaq on the authority of al-Zuhrl. This version ends at the words: “What is the matter with me that I am contended with in (the recitation of ) the Quran. Al-Awza’ I also narrated it on the authority of al-Zuhri. This version has: Al-Zuhrl said: The Muslims took lesson from that and thenceforth they did not recite (the Quran) at the prayer in which he (the Prophet) recited a loud. Abu Dawud said: I heard Muhammad bin Yaya bin Faris say: The words “ the people ceased to recite (the Quran)” is a statement of al-zuhri.

سیدنا عمران بن حصین ؓ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ظہر کی نماز پڑھائی ، ایک آدمی آیا اور اس نے آپ ﷺ کے پیچھے «سبح اسم ربك الأعلى» پڑھی ۔ جب آپ ﷺ فارغ ہوئے تو فرمایا ” تم میں سے کس نے قرآت کی ہے ؟ “ انہوں نے کہا : ایک آدمی نے قرآت کی ہے ۔ آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا ” میں جان گیا تھا کہ تم میں سے کسی نے مجھے قرآت میں الجھایا ہے ۔ “ امام ابوداؤد ؓ نے بیان کیا ہے کہ ابوالولید نے اپنی روایت میں شعبہ سے نقل کیا ہے کہ میں نے قتادہ سے کہا : کیا سعید کا یہ قول نہیں ہے کہ ” قرآن کے لیے خاموش رہو ؟ “ کہا : یہ تب ہے جب وہ جہراً پڑھے ۔ ابن کثیر نے اپنی روایت میں کہا : میں نے قتادہ سے کہا : گویا آپ نے اسے ( یعنی پڑھنے کو ) مکروہ جانا ۔ کہا : اگر مکروہ جانتے تو روک دیتے ۔
