سُورَةُ الدُّخَانِ

The Smoke — (Ad-Dukhaan)

حمٓ ١

Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ ٢

By oath of this clear Book. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍۢ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ ٣

We have indeed sent it down in a blessed night – indeed it is We Who warn. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ ٤

During it are distributed all the works of wisdom. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

أَمْرًۭا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ ٥

By a command from Us – indeed it is We Who send. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

رَحْمَةًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٦

A mercy from your Lord; indeed He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ ٧

The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you people believe. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٨

There is no worship except for Him – He gives life and causes death; your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّۢ يَلْعَبُونَ ٩

Rather they are in doubt, playing. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ ١٠

So you await the day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke. – — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ ١١

Which will envelop the people; this is a painful punishment. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ ١٢

Thereupon they will say, “O our Lord! Remove the punishment from us – we now accept faith.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ ١٣

How is it possible for them to accept guidance, whereas a Noble Messenger who speaks clearly has already come to them? — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌۭ مَّجْنُونٌ ١٤

Whereas they had then turned away from him and said, “He is a madman, tutored!”? — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ ١٥

We now remove the punishment for some days – so you will again commit the same. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ ١٦

The day when We will seize with the greatest seizure – We will indeed take revenge. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌۭ كَرِيمٌ ١٧

And before them We indeed tried the people of Firaun, and an Honourable Noble Messenger came to them. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ ١٨

Who said, “Give the bondmen of Allah into my custody; I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger for you.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ ١٩

And saying, “And do not rebel against Allah; I have brought a clear proof to you.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ ٢٠

“And I take the refuge of my Lord and yours, against your stoning me.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ ٢١

“And if you do not believe in me, then have no relation with me.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌۭ مُّجْرِمُونَ ٢٢

He therefore prayed to his Lord, “These are a guilty nation!” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ ٢٣

We commanded him, “Journey with My bondmen in a part of the night – you will be pursued.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌۭ مُّغْرَقُونَ ٢٤

“And leave the sea as it is, parted in several places; indeed that army will be drowned.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ ٢٥

How many gardens and water-springs they left behind! — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَزُرُوعٍۢ وَمَقَامٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ ٢٦

And fields and grand palaces! — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَنَعْمَةٍۢ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ ٢٧

And favours amongst which they were rejoicing! — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ ٢٨

That is what We did; and We made another nation their heirs. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ ٢٩

So the heavens and the earth did not weep for them, and they were not given respite. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ ٣٠

And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ ٣١

From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ٣٢

And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓؤٌۭا۟ مُّبِينٌ ٣٣

And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ ٣٤

Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ ٣٥

“There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ٣٦

“Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍۢ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ ٣٧

Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ ٣٨

And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

مَا خَلَقْنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٣٩

We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٤٠

Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًۭى شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ٤١

The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٤٢

Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ٤٣

Indeed the tree of Zaqqum, – — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ ٤٤

Is the food of the sinners. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ ٤٥

Like molten copper; it churns in their bellies. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ ٤٦

Like the churning of boiling water. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ٤٧

“Seize him, and forcibly drag him right to the blazing fire.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ ٤٨

“Then pour on his head the punishment of boiling water.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ ٤٩

Saying “Taste it! Indeed you only are the most honourable, the dignified!” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ ٥٠

“Indeed this is what you used to doubt about.” — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍۢ ٥١

Indeed the pious are in a place of peace. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ ٥٢

In Gardens and water-springs. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍۢ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍۢ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ ٥٣

They will be dressed in fine silk and embroidery, facing one another (on thrones). — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍۢ ٥٤

So it is; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ ٥٥

In it they will ask for all kinds of fruit, with safety. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ٥٦

They will not taste death again in it, except their former death; and Allah has saved them from the punishment of fire. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فَضْلًۭا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ٥٧

By the munificence of your Lord; this is the great success. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ ٥٨

And We have made this Qur’an easy in your language, for them to understand. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)

فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ ٥٩

Therefore wait (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they too are waiting. — Kanz ul-Iman (کنزالایمان)
